My name is Martin "Marty" Boersma and I grew up in Orland Park and graduated from Carl Sandburg High School in 1999.

I am married to my wife Selina, who is a life-long resident of Lockport. Together we have two boys, ages 14 and 11.  I first moved to Lockport in 2002.  Shortly after moving to Lockport, I had the pleasure of seeing the entire community come together in 2002 and 2003 to support the State Champion Lockport Porters football team.  I immediately had a passion for the "small town" feeling Lockport had to offer and I knew this was a community I wanted to be a part of.  I have been a very active member of the community over the past 10 years, as a volunteer and coach for hundreds of local kids in baseball, basketball, flag football, and soccer.  I am currently the head baseball coach at Taft School and the head coach of my son's 11u travel baseball team.

When elected for the school board I intend on putting the well-being of the students, their education, and concerns of the community members first.  Recently there have been several distractions in the school that have diverted the students from focusing on their education.  I have attended numerous board meetings over the past 2 years and noticed that the voices of the parents and residents go unheard.  This alone has motivated me to run for school board.  The current board members seem to completely ignore concerns brought to their attention and vote according to an agenda, not taking the residents' concerns into consideration.

My commitment to the community is to

stand firm on my ability to listen to others, to question motives, and to be the voice for all students, families, teachers  and taxpayers of the LTHS district.

I am Sandra Chimon Rogers, I have been a part of the Homer Glen community since the late 1980's. I am a Lockport Township High School (LTHS) alumni who was a percussionist for LTHS's band. I took advantage of the honors courses offered, and was involved in many other high school activities, including serving as an aide for the Science and Athletic departments. My passion for academics began with many conversations I had with my chemistry teacher at LTHS, Mr. Pocius. It is because of my experience at LTHS that I am in the field and position I currently hold, serving as a dean of academics and faculty for a college of professional studies.

I worked on my post-doctoral fellowship and obtained a Ph.D. in analytical chemistry from the University of Illinois, specializing in bioanalytical nuclear neurochemistry, focusing on finding various orthomolecular (natural products in their purest form) compounds that may be possible preventatives for Alzheimer's disease.

I have been recognized for innovation in academic curriculum overhaul by the Congressional House of Representatives and the Society of Innovators along with

presenting a TEDx Talk on changing the way we teach and learn.
Currently, in my spare time with my former research assistants (two of whom are my sons, one attends LTHS and the other will join the LTHS community in the fall of 2023), we are

working on completing my project with NASA/ISS/CASIS to see the effects of

anti-gravity as a possible prevention for Alzheimer’s Disease.

As an individual in the forefront of

higher education, if elected I will work on ensuring that we offer our students an opportunity to shine regardless of college bound or not.

 Hello, my name is Mike Clausen. I have recently been inclined to serve on the School Board of Lockport Township High School district 205, for many reasons, a few of them include;
⁃       Taxes, our current board voted recently, to raise our property taxes by 6.8%. This was passed, even though we showed a surplus for the next 2 years with our lower rate.
⁃       Protecting our children from politics and political ideologies, supporting and allowing teachers to teach an fundamental fact based curriculum - Math, Science, English, history and physical education.

I have lived in the southwest suburbs my entire 45 years and have been a Homer resident for 8 years. We love Homer Glen!

I am a husband of nearly 20years and a father of 3 awesome boys. My oldest graduated from LTHS.

Raising our family in Homer Glen has been one of the greatest decisions we have ever made. We have been very fortunate to have met many wonderful teachers and administrators in our Homer district. I have been an “in school” volunteer alongside Moms, helping the children for art projects, assemblies and whatever needed to be done. We need to protect and support our school system, with strong leadership and community oversight.

As a child, I became interested in the outdoors and all nature’s wonders. I am an avid outdoorsman and conservationist.
Fishing with my wife and kids is one of the most enjoyable activities we do together. We are also avid snowboarders.

I have been a Local 1 Ironworker for nearly 28 years, specializing in high rise work, tower cranes and bridges. My wife and I have been operating a specialized steel erecting company for 15 years, my wife is the President, I am the VP of operations. My professional life has graced me with many experiences. I have been a part of committee negotiations on both sides for many years, always working to find solutions, with fair and reasonable agreements for all being the priority. Seeking solutions as a committee.

Our elected servants need this mindset to protect our community, the people and its assets. I will never be pressured to vote for something I do not believe in. I will vote NO, to anything not serving our education for our children. My promise is to do just that.
