Joey is a fifth grader at Hadley Middle School and Vinny is an eighth grader at Homer Junior High. I am currently a Lieutenant with the Downers Grove Police Department, where I have served in that community for the last 21 years.
I am running for school board to
give back to the community my family and I live in, focusing on making sure all the children of Homer Glen 33c have the best possible education in a safe and secure environment. With a career as a law enforcement officer, I believe I possess a unique skill set that can provide that security for our children.

Before teaching, I received a Bachelor's degree in Science from Bowling Green State University where I also played on the men's soccer team. While injuries prevented me from continuing my soccer career, this provided me with the opportunity to explore my devotion to science. Impassioned, I went back to school and received a Masters in Teaching from National Louis University. Now, I find myself able to simultaneously pursue my love for coaching and teaching.
If elected, I seek to ensure fiscal responsibility, academic excellence, and supporting teachers. While my background in teaching and coaching have given me the leadership, discipline, and motivational tools that support students in their own academic pursuits, my identity as a professional learning committee member has instilled within me the importance of collaboration. Supporting teachers includes advocating for their needs and the tools- with consideration to fiscal limitations- that will boost both their contribution to their own
and their students' careers.

I spent more than 30 years marketing multiple engineering 2D/3D software solutions to design and manufacturing concerns. Engineering solutions included, among others, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electronic design.
During those 30 years, I worked with Dr. William Meisel Ph.D. Advanced Speech and Natural Language Technology (known as the Father of Voice Recognition Technology) and was responsible for marketing one of the first voice recognition technologies to the medical industry nationwide. In addition, I had the honor of working with Chuck Hull, the inventor of the 3D printer. I was the first to market and sell this technology in the Midwest. I bring years of business experience to the educational world.
I am now looking to give back to the community where my wife and I have raised our family by running for school board.
My focus is on curriculum quality and value for each student in the district.
